Learn to Swim
"Learn to swim is all about having fun while you learn. It builds water confidence, giving children a great feeling of being safe in the water." - Heather Gaby, Leisure Services Manager
Term 1 starts: Tuesday 19 February 2019
Finishes: Thursday 21 March 2019
Runs for five weeks
Learn to Swim classes are for ages four and older and are focus on building confidence in the water. Classes run during the school term on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for five weeks, covering 10 lessons. Our instructors have a real passion for teaching your children to swim and have a wealth of ideas for encouraging children to be safe around water.
Term 1 starts: Monday 18 February 2019
Finishes: Wednesday 20 March 2019
Runs for five weeks
If your child is already confident in the water, Swim Academy is the perfect programme for them. Swim Academy classes focus on stroke correction and building on your child's confidence and skills in the pool. Swim Academy classes run during the school term on Monday and Wednesday evenings for five to six weeks, covering 10 to 12 lessons (depending on the term). Lessons are 30 minutes long. Your child's first lesson is an assessment of their water confidence and capability. It's also a chance for instructors and swimmers to familiarize themselves with each other. To assist your child in our Swim Academy Programme we recommend that they come to practice at least one other time per week.
Toddler Tadpole classes are for the littlies just starting out in the water. Build your child's confidence in the water with an introduction to floating, moving and underwater activities. Classes are on every Thursday morning during the school term, from 10am until 11am with an instructor from 10.30am. Normal pool entry for caregiver and baby applies.
