Library Activities
Summer Reading Programme
From December to January each year we run the EC READ'N Summer Reading Programme. This programme is sponsored by the Lion's Charitable Trust. It is open to 140 children aged from four to 10 years who live in the South Waikato and is provided by the Tokoroa and Putāruru libraries at no charge. This programme is aimed at keeping the children reading over the summer holidays.
The programme runs for six weeks and winds up with finale where each child receives a book and other rewards.
School Holiday Programme
Each school holidays during the year we have a reading and activity based programme open to all ages, called S.T.A.R.S. (South Waikato Tamariki: Achievers, Role-models, Superstars!).
