Start by filling out our adoption request form and viewing our available dogs on Trade Me. Once we’ve received your application, our team will be in touch to discuss your home environment, lifestyle, and the type of dog you’re looking for. From there, we can arrange a meet-and-greet and, if it’s a match, guide you through the final steps.

Foster carers provide a temporary home for dogs who need extra care before adoption. We supply food and essentials - you provide love, patience, and a safe environment. If you’re interested, please complete our form, and we’ll be in touch with next steps.

Yes. Adoption fees help cover part of the cost of vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, and general care. These services cost more than the fee, but thanks to support through Council funding, we’re able to keep adoption costs affordable. See the Fees and Charges for more info.

Our goal is always to rehome every dog. Sadly, there are times when this isn’t possible - for example, if a dog has serious health issues or behaviour problems that make rehoming unsafe. Euthanasia is only ever considered as a last resort, and decisions are made with the dog’s welfare and community safety in mind.

There are plenty of ways to support the shelter: become a foster carer, volunteer your time, donate, or drop off supplies like blankets, towels, food, and toys. Every contribution helps make a difference.
