The Plaza
The Plaza is South Waikato’s premier performing arts and events venue in Putāruru, available to hire for your next event! From large performances to smaller conferences and community gatherings, it provides a versatile space for any occasion.
The theatre fits up to 500 people and features a 9-bar fly tower, ample parking, full wheelchair access, dressing rooms, a kitchen, shower facilities, gas heating, retractable seats and fantastic acoustics.

- Arthur Fountain Studio: at the rear of the main theatre, the studio fitting 20-40 people is perfect for meetings and smaller functions with a full kitchen, changing areas and showers
- The Pavilion: the small function room is another great option for meetings, conferences or regular events with its 100" digital screen, projector, whiteboard, easel and display stand
- Seating/tables: dining tables and chairs available on request
- Foyer: newly-renovated kitchen, commercial dishwasher, candy bar, disabled toilets
- Engineers/security: technicians/security/FoH staff available
- Access: loading dock to stage
- Sound/lighting: DMX capable, light and sound rig available to hire
