Te Rau
Te Rau and Te Kakara are two new pou that were unveiled at Leith Place, Tokoroa, by Council and Raukawa on 20 October 2025.
Te Rau turns west, towards Wharepūhunga and Rangiātea, where Raukawa grew up. Te Kakara gazes north to the Kaimai Range and Ōkoroire, the birthplace of Raukawa. Between them stands the Raukawa pou, now facing east - a reflection of the ancestral journey of Tūrongo of the Tainui waka, who travelled to Te Tai Rāwhiti, where he met and took Māhinaarangi of Ngāti Kahungunu as his wife.
