South Waikato trio named Waikato Business Awards finalists

Proving again that business success happens in South Waikato soil, three local outfits have been named finalists in the 2026 Waikato Business Awards.

A year on from winning the International Trade Award in 2025, Tokoroa forestry equipment developer SATCO is back again, this time as a finalist in the Innovation category.

Another past winner – when they claimed the 2017 Supreme Award win – Blue Pacific Minerals return as a finalist for the Business Growth and Strategy Award.

Meanwhile, harvesting‑equipment pioneer Waratah has been recognised in two categories: International Trade and People & Culture.

"We are delighted and very proud to see these three businesses shortlisted," South Waikato Mayor Gary Petley said.

"Our District is a great place to do business and as a Council we are determined to keep promoting that fact.

"Land here is more affordable than many major centres, we have plenty of space for business to grow and we want to help facilitate success."

The awards recognise innovation and leadership across the Waikato and celebrate the strength of the regional economy.

Winners will be announced at the Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards ceremony on 6 November.
