Council entrance way repairs on Torphin Crescent
CAPTION: The South Waikato District Council building on Torphin Crescent, Tokoroa, is undergoing essential repair work inside the portico structure of the main entrance way. Public access is still available during this time.
Repair works, required to remedy water damage inside the Council Building’s entranceway portico structure, is due to begin on Monday 21 September.
The main entrance on Torphin Crescent will be fenced off on Friday 11 September, to ensure best safety protocols while scaffolding across the main doors is in place – initially for contractors to complete damage assessments, followed by the necessary repair works.
Signage will be available on the fencing, with instructions for visitors to enter through the front door (via the side path behind the Anzac Memorial wall) - or to be redirected to Huihuinga Rau on Mannering Street for all general customer queries.
The work is expected to take about nine weeks to complete, depending on weather and the extent of the damage found internally.
The project kick off has been timed to coincide with the move of the Tokoroa Customer Solutions staff transition to the refurbished Tokoroa Library on Mannering Street – now named Huihuinga Rau Community Hub and Library.
