11 March Local Services Committee meeting

South Waikato District Council’s Local Services Committee met on Wednesday, 11 March.

This was the first Local Services Committee meeting for this triennium and there were a number of presentations and reports.

Council’s Executive Manager Nick Murphy presented the Workplace Health and Safety Report covering the period from July-December last year and updated the Committee on all incidents that occurred during this time.

The Community Experience Team presented their Activity Update on what's happening in the customer solutions space, at the Animal Shelter, the libraries and other leisure services.

The Committee was also presented the Solid Waste and Waste Minimisation Update which highlighted Council’s solid waste activities and initiatives for waste minimisation. SWDC continues to implement the Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) 2022–2028 and a full Implementation report will be presented at the June Council meeting.
