​Health Warning – Algal Blooms Detected at Lake Arapuni

A Public Health Warning for Lake Arapuni has been put in place by Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora due to cyanobacteria (Algal Blooms) levels.

Cyanobacteria can cause skin rashes, asthma symptoms and more. If exposed, shower and change clothes ASAP.

Please also keep dogs away from affected water - it's toxic to them too.

Please avoid contact with the water and keep children and pets away until further notice. Algal Blooms can be harmful to people and animals, even if the water looks clear in some areas.
