Pavement Strengthening on Main St, Putāruru

Council's contractors will complete an urgent rehabilitation project on Main Street, Putāruru to repair damage and improve the longevity of the pavement. As part of the contract, the team will be milling the pavement and digging out unsuitable material, placing subbase material and laying structural asphalt.

Lane Closures

To undertake these works the closure of one lane of the road to traffic, pedestrians and parking at a time is required when it is being worked on. The other lane will remain open to traffic and pedestrians.

The Northern Section of the site map will be closed from 6pm Sunday 16 November until Saturday 22 November, and the Southern Section from 6pm Sunday 23 November to Saturday 29 November.

Night works

Some night works will be required at the site, depending on weather and asphalt availability.

There will be night works on the 16th and 23rd for milling out. The pull-off and parking area on Buckland Street will also be reduced for the duration of the project. Pedestrians can cross the road at the western end of the site to reach businesses on the opposite side or use the alternative parking areas indicated by the red circles on the map above.

Works are scheduled to be completed by 3 December.
