This Wednesday 27 August 2025, a South Waikato District Council meeting will consider decisions on behalf of our community.
Among the topics scheduled to be presented to Council and/or discussed are:
- Play, Active Recreation and Sport (PARS) report with Sport Waikato that will seek Council's approval of the PARS Plan, which provides a strategic framework to guide investment and support for play, active recreation, and sport in the South Waikato District.
- River Access Reserve Allocation report seeking Council approval to utilise monies held within the River Access Reserve fund for undertaking tree clearing and planting activities within esplanade reserves and funding the Waikato River Trail.
- A presentation from NZTA on the SH1 Tīrau to Waiouru project update
Members of the community are invited to attend the meeting from 9.30am at the Council Chamber in Tokoroa or watch the meeting via live stream by clicking here.
Any member of the public wishing to speak at the Speaker Forum before the meeting commences will need to notify Council by 1PM, Tuesday 24 July in order to be able to speak on the day. Each speaker is permitted up to five minutes to address the Council. Requests made after the cutoff date and time are subject to the Chair's discretion.
