South Waikato District Council's Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee met on Wednesday, 18 June 2025 at the Council Chamber in Tokoroa.
The Committee was presented with the External Audit Update. Deloitte, Council's external auditor, presented the planning report for the audit of South Waikato District Council for the year ending 30 June 2025.

Michael Booth, SWDC Executive Manager for Business Support, provided an update for the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee on risk matters presently being managed by the Council. The report can be found here and covers the following matters:

• Workplace Health & Safety and Wellbeing
• Emergency Management
• Fraud: The Committee was presented with Council's reviewed and updated Fraud Policy.
• Cyber Security
SWDC Emergency Management Officer Martin Barratt provided an update for the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee on matters relating to the role of Civil Defence Emergency Management within the Council. The report can be read here.
The Committee also received a Legal Update and a report on the Water Delivery Plan. These were discussed in the public-excluded part of the meeting.
