To take water from a fire hydrant
A permit is required to draw water from a fire hydrant and anyone withdrawing water without a permit may be prosecuted,
An application form to apply for a permit and approval will be required before any water is taken. Permits are valid for a maximum of twelve (12) months. Fees for hydrant service pipe supply are found at this link: Fees and Charges.
Water transported outside of the district or drawn from Arapuni is not permitted. To enable the use of your own standpipe you must supply to Council a copy of your certification certificate to prove that your double-check valve has been certified.
If you wish to take water from a fire hydrant you must return the completed permit application form enclosing the appropriate permit fee to South Waikato District Council, Private Bag 7, Tokoroa 3444.
