Emergency Status Update
This page perhaps looks a little odd, a little empty, under normal circumstances. But it is live on our website to familiarise you with what our Emergency Status page WILL look like during an emergency.
In an emergency, this page will list information updates for public to view.
This will detail the latest news.
This will detail the areas that are affected and what the effect is.
What Should You Do
This will direct people to specific tips, like stay in doors (if it is a chlorine leak for instance); bring loose furniture in (in the event of a cycline)... etc.
Civil Defence Centres
The Welfare or Recovery Assistance Centres that activated to support the community during and after an emergency will be detailed here.
Here you may find agencies such as Housing NZ, Work and Income, Victim Support, Salvation Army, NZ Red Cross, St John and other community agencies.
Welfare Centres may provide emergency shelter, housing, clothing, catering and information.
Recovery Assistance Centres
Here you may find agencies such as Housing NZ, Work and Income, Victim Support, Salvation Army, NZ Red Cross, EQC and Local Council staff along with information about recovering from an emergency.
Recovery Assistance Centres are a hub for information and links to support services.
