Waikato District Health Board - case number and other updates
For daily updates visit Waikato DHB Facebook.
This page contains information from one source - the Waikato DHB's daily email/Facebook update, most recent at the top. We are starting this page from Thursday 16 December, data will be built once available.
But first to address a question we have been asked a lot.
Q. How come case numbers are increasing, but there are no locations of interest?
A. Where there are not locations of interest reported this means case investigations have not identified any locations which raise concerns that the public may have been at risk. This will generally indicate that any potential exposure events have been in private settings where affected individuals can be contacted directly by Public Health, and/or that when individuals were in the community, they were adhering to the appropriate safety protocols to reduce risk such as masking and social distancing. We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated and to contact Healthline or their GP before seeking a test if they develop symptoms.
