At the central roundabout in Putaruru, you can not help but notice an odd-shaped building which stands behind a swirl of water.
The Putaruru WaterPark was officially opened by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Helen Clark in August 2001. It is a great source of pride for the people of the District. Bricks, sporting the names of groups, clubs and families who donated money, materials and their time into creating the Park, are intermingle with the paving. Woven into the arrangement is huge and detailed mosaics that depict an aspect of life in the District.
